Prescott City Council to consider new and increased citywide fees on May 26

The Prescott City Council will consider and may adopt changes to the Citywide Fee Schedule at its regularly scheduled meeting on May 26, according to a notice released on May 11. Several departments are proposing adjustments or additions to existing fees and charges.

The council meeting is set for 3:00 pm in the City Council Chambers at Prescott City Hall, located at 201 N. Montezuma Street, Prescott, Arizona. If the council adopts the proposed changes, the new and increased fees will take effect starting July 1.

A document outlining the proposed schedule of fees and charges is available for public review ahead of the meeting. The notice states that residents have an opportunity to see which departments are affected by these potential fee changes.

Prescott operates under a council-manager government structure with an elected mayor and city council who appoint a city manager, according to the official website. The city provides essential municipal services such as police and fire protection, water management, waste collection, parks maintenance, recreation facilities including an airport, while also promoting economic growth and tourism through community engagement initiatives like public meetings and Citizen’s Academy programs.

The city’s focus includes historic preservation efforts alongside maintaining community quality of life through tourism and public participation. Prescott highlights its rich history as a former territorial capital while supporting local infrastructure such as parks and recreational areas.
