The House of Representatives has approved a three-year extension of the Secure Rural Schools (SRS) program, with support from Rep. Eli Crane (R-AZ). The measure now awaits President Trump’s signature.
The SRS program provides funding for schools and essential services in rural areas, reducing reliance on revenue from the U.S. Forest Service. Rep. Crane advocated for the extension, which will benefit all counties in Arizona’s Second Congressional District.
“I’m proud to join my colleagues in reauthorizing the Secure Rural Schools program to provide vital support for schools in rural Arizona,” said Rep. Crane. “This extension secures much-needed stability and funding. This is a positive outcome, and I will always fight for those I represent.”
Rep. Eli Crane has represented Arizona’s 2nd district in Congress since 2023, after succeeding Tom O’Halleran. He was born in Tucson, Arizona in 1980 and currently resides in Oro Valley.
